Stéphane Carlier received his MD degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) and defended his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Erasmus University, Rotterdam (The Netherlands). He is currently chief of the department of cardiology and interventional cardiologist at the University Hospital HELORA in Mons (Belgium), and professor of Cardiology at UMons. His research interests include complex coronary percutaneous interventions, intravascular imaging, cardiac and vascular dynamics, physiology, signal processing, specifically the prediction of atrial fibrillation with AI, and accelerated atherosclerosis and cardiotoxicity in oncology.
