
Randall Thompson
Dr. Randall Thompson is an attending cardiologist at St. Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City and Professor of Medicine, University of Missouri – Kansas City. He earned his MD degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta before serving his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His clinical specialty includes nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular CT imaging. His research interests in recent years have focused on the search for the origins of atherosclerosis leading to CT scanning of ancient mummies and indigenous people living in remote locations.
Dr. Thompson is active in medical societies and currently serves as the Past-President of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology as well as Chair of the American College of Cardiology Coding Work Group and is Cardiology Advisor to the AMA CPT Editorial Panel.
