
Magdi El Omar
Dr El-Omar is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Manchester Heart Centre, Manchester, England. He graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. He did his General Medical training in London and Oxford, including a 2-year General Medical rotation at St Thomas’ Hospital, working under Sir Professor Richard Thompson (ex-Physician to the Queen and ex-President of the Royal College of Physicians). He then embarked on a career in Cardiology, completing his General Cardiology training in Birmingham, Oxford and Wales. He subspecialized in coronary intervention, which included a 2.5 year interventional fellowship at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, New York, and the New York University Medical Centre, New York, USA. His specialist interests include complex coronary intervention, and the management of acute and stable coronary artery disease. He is one of the highest volume coronary intervention operators in the UK. He is currently the lead for the acute chest pain and PCI services at the Manchester Heart Centre.
