Dr. Catalin Pestrea is an implantable cardiac devices specialist and an interventional electrophysiologist. He is the head of the Cardiac Devices and Electrophysiology Unit of the Brasov County Clinical Emergency Hospital in the center of Romania. In 2018, he performed the first permanent His bundle pacing procedures, and in 2019, the first left bundle branch area pacing procedures in Romania. Since then, he has implemented these procedures in his laboratory as a standard of care, with approximately half of all the pacing cases being conduction system pacing. Since 2020, he has been an international proctor for conduction system pacing, helping to launch these therapies in several hospitals from countries like Jordan, Marrocco, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bulgaria, Bosnia, and Macedonia. He has published several articles on this topic and is part of ongoing national and international trials for conduction system pacing.
